Maggie is warm, empathetic and an experienced Case Manager.  Maggie possesses an ability to engage with challenging people in a way that is effective and ethical with the driving focus remaining reflective of the individuals needs and wants.  Maggie has proven to be invaluable in working holistically and in a way that is not “prescribed” which is entirely necessary when working with a potentially volatile client with fluctuating abilities, moods, motivation and articulation skills to name a few.

Maggie has listened to the key people involved in the situation and helped guide and plan to navigate ways forward which are realistic, measured and supported.  With a listening ear and a gently persuasive manner Maggie has been able to work effectively and to great effect with a client who was / is quite stubborn to say the least; and who has made great strides since Maggie has been involved with our case.

“I felt talking to other team leaders was the most helpful, and when Maggie gives good examples to how to deal with certain situations and the correct wording”.

“I found listening to other team leaders interesting. I learned a lot from Maggie’s responses to questions asked in how to handle certain situations that arise within the team and how to stay professional”.

At first my sister and I couldn’t work out why we needed a case manager, we’d managed for 3 years, what could she do that we didn’t.

And then we met Maggie. In a kind, caring and approachable way Maggie very quickly built up a relationship with Dad and managed to get him on side very rapidly so he understood that Maggie was there for him so he didn’t have to rely on us. She quickly understood our parents' situation and what assistance she could be. It was like having a huge weight lifted from my shoulders.

Maggie manages everything and liaises with all the organisations involved with our parents and us in a professional and caring manner and ensures that Dad’s best interests are always paramount and everything is done how he and we would like.

Whatever the problem Maggie can fix it, from sorting out hair cuts or DIY problems, liaising with the carers, the GP, the nurses or taking dad for his hospital appointments, Maggie can and does everything and seems to have a wealth of experience to draw on but also does it in a way that she feels a part of the family.

Even if I go along to appointments with Dad and Maggie, it is so lovely to have Maggie with us to organise it and not have the full weight of responsibility.

Dad knows Maggie and that he can call on her for anything any time, and when he was in pain she took him straight to the GP.

Having Maggie as Dad’s case manager mean my sister and I can get on with our own lives confidently knowing he and our mother have everything they need and when we visit we don’t have a big agenda of appointments and things to sort, we can just visit as his daughters.

She has made a huge difference to our parents' lives in a very short time and given Dad a degree of independence from us.'
